The historic brand crafted a scent for Empress Eugénie in the mid-19th century and has since integrated skincare and cosmetic products into its high-end offerings, becoming the reference for fully tailored wellness solutions.
Recently installed at the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal, Guerlain brings a remarkable spa experience to the city, adding to a list of world-class destinations including Randheli and Dubai. LUXE sat down with Stéphanie Cherbakow Baron, General Director of the Spa, to learn about a next-level approach to well-being, and to unveil a winter offer that is impossible to resist.
CATERING TO THE SENSES
Guerlain Spa allows clients to step out of their daily lives, from making the reservation to calling the elevator for the return home. Luxurious touches are bestowed at every turn. Upon entering the spa, a shibori towel is offered—its temperature and fragrance adapted to the time of year. Guerlain’s wellness philosophy embraces a holistic approach that goes beyond on-site treatments. The spa’s knowledgeable therapists can prescribe personalized wellness or beauty plans that help to lessen the effects of repetitive stressors on the body, such as UV rays, blue screen light, and demanding schedules. The brand is also dedicated to the wellness of our planet, having already implemented zero-carbon operations in France that will be extended internationally by 2030.
In each one-of-a-kind experience, guests surrender to a world of beauty and restoration. The Secrets of Indiamassage is administered to the rhythm of a transportive soundscape inspired by the Shalimar Legend. With the five senses engaged, sessions are as enjoyable for the therapist as for the guest. Signature experiences designed to reflect the spirit of Montreal are also proposed; Energy & Glow in Montreal and The Power of Montreal can be combined to restore vitality to the face and offer relief to the body.
Couples can experience the pleasure of a shared experience in the Tonka Impériale treatment room. The most decadent offering, L’imperiale, is a five-hour journey incorporating four treatments adapted to the guest’s needs and a Guerlain bath, along with a signature cocktail and sweets to toast and taste.
A sumptuous line of products developed in Guerlain’s French laboratories is incorporated into each treatment. Created using more than 90% naturally derived ingredients—a rarity in the luxury industry—Guerlain’s body care, cosmetics and perfume collections are among the finest. L’art et la matière, for example,is composed of non-gendered perfumes that evoke moods inspired by works of art. Connoisseurs will have several fragrances in their arsenal to suit different occasions and moods.
